Ciao Roma!

Hey everyone!
So a couple of weeks ago - me and the hubby went off to Rome, Italy!
Its somewhere I have always wanted to go and tried to convince my mum so, so much when I was younger. But I never did get what I wanted haha!
Anyway, when it came to booking - we obviously checked expedia etc, to find the best deals but we ended up booking the flights and hotel separate, which actually worked out cheaper.
We flew by Jet2 which was completely fine to be honest, the plane wasn't too busy and the staff were super friendly. As for the hotel, we stayed at the Grand Hotel Ritz Rome  which we booked on The hotel was beautiful! And the staff were really friendly. The only downside was that there was no air conditioning in any of the rooms, only warm air. You could open the window of course but it was SO noisy outside.
Anyway, whilst in Rome we did all the usual touristy stuff, we even went on one of the tour buses which was great! We didn't hop on/off as we just wanted to scope out all of the places we really wanted to see. To get around the rest of Rome we used the Metro service which was great - much like the London Underground. Just make sure you download a map onto your phone before you arrive so you can figure out which lines to take.
Food-wise - the food is great - pizza, pasta, bread, gelato! The only thing complaining was my waistline. As for my Muslim readers - there was actually a lot of places selling halal food. You could find a street full of places across from Termini Station - all reasonably priced.

From top to bottom - Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Venezia, Rome Grand Mosque, Colosseum & Piazza del Popolo.

Romana x.

  1. Sounds interesting. I have been to Rome and it was an amazing trip. Guess that was 2 years back. Loved the historic city and it reminded me of the history books we used to study at school.
